Most of people tell you about switching the phone off first. But I would recommend you to toggle the airplane  mode first. When the no sim detected then you should turn on the airplane  mode. Most of the times turning on the airplane  mode and then turning it off solves the problem. Here is how you can do that.

  1. Navigate to the navigation panel of your smartphone
  2. Click on the airplane  icon to turn on the airplane  mode.
  3. After 20 sec click again on the icon and turn airplane  mode off.
  4. And your network will be start showing.

If this doesn’t solve the problem then shift to next method given below. If this solves your problem then there is no need to move to next step.

Change Network Mode

Airplane  mode didn’t solved the problem? Here is another hack. You should try changing network mode now. Sometimes due to weak network connection the smartphone doesn’t work on the 4g then you have to shift it to the 3g or 2g. Here is how you can do that.

  1. Navigate to the settings
  2. Click on the mobile network option. Then after that click on the network mode.
  3. Switch the network to different mode than current one. For example, suppose I have the network mode as 4G/3G/2G then I will shift it to the 3G only and then again 4G/3G/2G. Make sure that you wait 20 s after each switch.

This will definitely solve your problem. If not then move towards next step.

Select Proper Operator

If there is no problem in the network mode then problem might be found due to selection of the wrong operator. Sometimes your phone is unable to detect the correct operator. So, we have to do it. Follow these steps to do that.

  1. Navigate to settings > mobile network > carrier.
  2. After clicking carrier, you will have the screen showing automatic registration option. Turn that off.
  3. After turning it off you will see manual registration. Select the carrier according to your sim card. For example, I have airtel sim installed and I have automatic registration over idea in the smartphone. So, I will shift to the manual registration and then I will select the airtel as a carrier.

This step should have fixed your problem now. If this step also doesn’t solve your problem then and then only you should move to the next step.

Change the APN Settings

Though it is not a necessary step at user level but if you want to do it you can try. The steps are very simple.

  1. Navigate to the settings> Mobile network> Access Point Name
  2. Then select the proper APN.
  3. For example, in my smartphone the APN is set to airtel mms then I will shift to the Airtel internet.

If this doesn’t solve problem then shift back to the previous APN. And move to the next method.

Reboot

You have tried all above steps now. Then the option that left to do is to reboot the phone. Reboot means the restart. You have to switch off the phone and again start it. Here is how you do that.

  1. Press the switch off button for long time until the options come on the screen
  2. From the options opened on the screen, select the restart button and click it.
  3. Soon your phone will be switched off and start again.
  4. After the phone opens again, check that if now sim is detected or not.

If this step too doesn’t solve the problem then you can move to the next step. Check out that.

After the reboot if the problem doesn’t get solved then safe mode is another option. Boot the phone into the safe mode and then try to check the network. If still your sim doesn’t get detected then check the next step we have given here.

Reinstall SIM

You have tried all the software and screen hacks till now. From airplane  mode to safe mode you tried everything. But the sim doesn’t get detected. Then problem must be related to the hardware. Remove the sim card from the smartphone carefully. Clean it and then re insert it again. Then check that the problem is solved or not. Most of people’s problem gets solved at this step because the sim may get disturbed from its position. And after re adjustment of it it gets detected again. But this too didn’t solve your problem then move to next step.

Clean The Port

After all the steps this is last option that can solve the problem. The port of the sim may get filled with dirt and thus the contact between system and the sim may be affected. You should clean the port and then again insert the sim. This will definitely solve the problem.

If this step too doesn’t solve your problem then you have to contact to your sim company and change the sim.
